Supply UK buys Transit Fleet 

Supply UK Hire Shops has ordered 40 Transit vehicles from Bolton-based Gordons Ford, specially adapted for hire industry use. Commercial Director Jim Field pictured in the foreground (below) with Gordons Business Centre Manager Paul Turner, was able to see the first vehicle of the initial batch at the Executive Hire Show, displayed prominently outside the south entrance of the Ricoh Arena venue

"The Transits will be delivered between now and the end of May, replacing Mercedes Sprinter vehicles in our fleet. They have fuel-efficient direct injection engines giving better fuel economy, and our drivers prefer the layout of the Transit's cab. The PPS Commercials tail lift fitted to the vehicle is also excellent, and it has been customised for us with parking sensors and rotating beacons that are de-mountable. We are also planning to replace 20 other Sprinters in our vehicle fleet with Transits in the near future."
